All proceedings are conducted by qualified legal practitioners who have years of professional experience practising as lawyers or judges and specific training and certification in conducting CORTHO ARBITRATION proceedings.
Sole and three-member arbitration
In the case of a sole arbitrator, the parties appoint a sole arbitrator from the list of certified arbitrators.
In the case of a three-member arbitral tribunal, each of the parties appoints an arbitrator. These arbitrators then appoint a president from the list of certified arbitrators to lead the proceedings.
The number of arbitrators depends on the amount in dispute. Disputes over amounts of up to CHF 1.5 million are conducted by a sole arbitrator. Disputes exceeding this amount are conducted by three-member tribunals unless the parties agree otherwise.
